Each specialty provides particular competencies as a function of the target population of that teaching activity. A graduate in Exceptional Education will be prepared to provide services for children and young people with mental retardation or learning difficulties. A graduate in Elementary Education will provide comprehensive services to children and young people in the first and second stages of basic education; and a graduate in Preschool Education will provide educational services to young children 0 to 6 years of age in conventional and unconventional settings. |
Education is an activity oriented toward the study, analysis and investigation of educational issues from the points of view of individuals and of society. This is why the training of aspiring educators requires a solid basis in science, technical aspects and ethics.
