ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE IN PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION Students who enter the AA Degree Program in Pre-School Education must be able to communicate effectively with young children and their families. They must be able to create a nurturing and enriched environment that provides children with both structured and informal learning opportunities. In order to accomplish this, they need a broad knowledge of the developmentally appropriate sequence of physical, emotional and intellectual development of young children. They must also be able to communicate effectively with parents, and serve as parent-educators or partners. Through a combination of classroom and field experience, students who graduate from the JMVU AA Degree Program in pre- School Education will enter the workforce as prepared and knowledgeable pre-school teachers.
